Unexpected Times
I know I have been quiet for a little while, but I have had a lot going through my head! So I wanted to take some time and give a little family update! This is a hard update because I still have so many emotions going, but just wanted you all to know where we are and what is going on!
As you all know, I lost my father at the end of September. I have had a lot of people asking me in the past, what is one of the hardest things about living overseas…well this is it! I didn’t get that time to sit by his hospital bed and share memories, or tell him how much Jonathan is growing or how much I love him. I missed it! By the time we were able to get out of Swaziland, he had already passed! But without a shadow of doubt, I am here where the Lord has called me, so I strongly believe that the Lord will get me through this process of grief!
So with the help of all of our friends, family and people we haven’t even met we were able to get a repatriation flight out of Swaziland to Kenya. From Kenya we flew to Amsterdam and then on to Atlanta. Once we landed in Atlanta, we hoped in the car, got ready and then headed to visitation. The funeral followed the next day. I will say this was one of the hardest months of my life! Going through his things, finding pictures of us that I haven’t seen in a while and so much more brought back so many great memories that I will hold close forever! I will miss you forever and always daddy!
Your continued prayers would be greatly appreciated as we continue this life without our daddy and Pawpaw!
So as the month went on, we had to stick close to our house because we had to have negative covid tests within 72 hours of travel! So we didn’t want to risk one of us having a positive test and not being able to travel and lose those flights! So we are sorry we couldn’t see most of you while in the States, but we will be back sometime in 2021 Lord willing for support raising! So we will see you all soon!
As we started our journey back to Swaziland, it was tough to entertain a 2 year old, but we longed to be back where the Lord has called us to be!! I didn’t ever think we were going to make it, but the Lord kept reminding me to fully trust Him because He had everything worked out for us! Literally 2 days before we left, our flights were being cancelled and changed to go different routes! So after 4 days of traveling, 3 layovers, delays due to a navigation system, and a 50 minute flight to Swaziland that turned into a 3.5 hour flight we finally made it back home!!
So thank you all for praying for us during all of this, graciously giving to get us to the States and so much more!! We love you all!
