What a journey it has been so far…

May 27th, I packed all my stuff up and headed for Birmingham to hop on a Amtrak train! Arrived in NYC on May 28th and traveled around 7 blocks with 27 suitcases!! (That just makes me tired thinking about it again!!) It was a fun adventure and something we will never forget!! 🙂 On May 31st, I was picked up at the hotel at 3:30 AM and boarded the plane at 7:00 AM!! I was full of emotions…is this really happening? Finally landed in Joburg the next morning and met up with the Mullins. We were then picked up by Sandile and headed for SWAZILAND!!

When we finally got to Swaziland, we met up with the McAdams and met a team from Georgia. Then we headed for our homes and got a great cooked meal from Julie! We have spent the last couple of days getting settled in, unpacking, and going on a scavenger hunt!!

Then today, I was able to go to my first care point…(which is one of my favorite places to be!) I went to the Mpholi care point!! See the picture below!!

As soon as I got out of car…these two little girls spotted me!! The younger one (Pink jacket) wanted to take picture after picture and the older one wanted to wear my sunglasses!! As I was sitting there playing with these precious little girls, I thought, this is why I am here!! I am here to love on these kids, to show them God’s love, and to remind them that Jesus loves them!!

We sat down with the go-gos and collected some Timbali that they had made, and Marcia shared a few things!! She told them some stories about selling some Timbali and how some stuff people really loved to buy…like the American girl doll dresses!! They clapped and said, “Praise Jesus!!” They danced, they were so excited!! They get it!! In every little thing they have, they are thankful!!

Thanks for following my journey so far!! I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for me on this journey!! Love you guys!!
